The scope of business includes:

1. Agriculture, including the sale of unprocessed agricultural products for processing or resale
2. Commercial activities – purchase of goods for resale and sale
3. Plant breeding and seed production
4. Research activities in the field of breeding and seed production

Agrogen manages 386 ha of arable land and fruit orchards. The main crops are winter and spring wheat, spring barley, white mustard, phacelia, and millet. On seed production areas, we mainly propagate alfalfa, red and white clover, perennial and Italian ryegrass, kidney vetch, sainfoin, creeping bentgrass, sweet vernal grass, fodder kale, and a variety of medicinal plant species. Approximately 16–20 ha are dedicated to the new breeding of these species.
The company’s main activity is new breeding and maintenance breeding. We maintain 63 varieties of forage crops and 24 species of medicinal plants. During the 30 years of the company’s existence, 51 new varieties have been registered; our varieties are also registered abroad. They are grown, for example, in Germany, Austria, Denmark, Hungary, Italy, France, and Switzerland. AGROGEN is the only Czech company involved in the creation of new alfalfa varieties, and the authorized varieties are our property. Our portfolio also includes medicinal plants, which we propagate and sell as seeds.

We propagate pre-basic and basic seed stages mainly on our own land and at selected propagation organizations, while certified seeds are produced at other contract growers. We ensure the supply of basic seed stages for seed organizations both domestically and abroad. The extent of seed production areas for our varieties at the C1 stage with third-party seed companies is slightly increasing for alfalfa, red clover, and white clover, or the areas are expanding. By propagating our varieties both domestically and abroad, the company earns royalties, which constitute significant financial resources for the creation of new varieties.
Our company also deals with the production of grass and clover-grass mixtures for agricultural and non-agricultural use. We prepare mixtures for subsidy programs as well as mixtures according to customer requirements.
At our stations, we also clean seeds for our own use and for our business partners.
