Želešice Plant Breeding Station
Development of new genotypes
It focuses primarily on forage crops (alfalfa, sainfoin, white clover, Italian and annual ryegrass, common bent, lacy phacelia), triticale, and medicinal and aromatic plants.
Performance trials for triticale, wheat, and winter barley are also established at the station.

Maintenance breeding
We perform this for 22 varieties of forage crops and 22 species of medicinal and aromatic plants.
Other activities
- We sell seeds for forage crops, medicinal plants, and grass mixtures.
- We sell fruit (cherries, apricots, peaches, and apples)
- We provide custom seed drying and cleaning services
- We also grow seed-grade feed wheat, malting barley, mustard, phacelia, millet, etc.
- We provide advisory services for crop cultivation and plant protection.
Offer for multiplication
We offer seed multiplication for white mustard, alfalfa, lacy phacelia, sainfoin, and annual and hybrid ryegrass.

History of the Želešice Plant Breeding Station
- 1877: Fruit nurseries established by Friedrich Wanieck
- After 1945: Expanded to include the holdings of the Hajany State Farm and the Želešice JZD
- 1965: The enterprise was incorporated into the Breeding and Seed Enterprise in Brno
- 1967: Forage crop breeding commenced in Želešice
- 1974: The current building of the breeding station was constructed
- 1977: The Želešice Station was included in the OSEVA production-economic unit and became part of the Research and Breeding Institute for Forage Crops in Troubsko
- 1995: Following privatization, the Želešice Station was integrated into AGROGEN, spol. s r.o. along with the Slavice Station and part of the Troubsko Research Station
